Family/ Matrimonial Law Attorney

We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm currently expanding our Matrimonial
Department and seeking a Matrimonial Attorney with 10+ years of experience and a proven track
record as a first chair trial attorney. The successful candidate must have matrimonial and family
law experience with a concentration in litigation, conducting trials and taking depositions.
Candidate should have a strong work ethic and the ability for case management, the guidance of
support staff, and strategy are required. Must also be able to handle a high volume of cases as well
as jump in to assist in other cases when needed. Efficient time management, a congenial interface
with clientele a must. The ability to multitask and a book of business are a plus.
Responsibilities:
• Lead 1st chair in trials on matrimonial cases
• Prepare pleadings, motions, depositions, and briefs.
• Appear in various courts in Brooklyn, NYC and the surrounding areas.
• Direct cases through the litigation cycle, ensuring a cost-effective strategy.
• Manage a substantial caseload and attend court as necessary.
• Organize and track case status, overseeing attorney court appearances, calendars, and client
matters.
• Zealously represent clients in divorce, custody, child support, and other family matters in
Supreme Court, Family Court, and concurrent matters.
• In-depth knowledge of Supreme Court and Family Court procedures.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• 10+ years of experience in Matrimonial law
• Proven 1st chair trial experience
• NY Bar admittance is required.
• Exceptional writing skills
• Great organizational and multitasking abilities
• Demonstrated flexibility and effective prioritization of work tasks.
• Collaborative spirit with excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, court
staff, and colleagues.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
