Balazs Nanoanalysis is a contract analytical laboratory owned by Air Liquide Electronics is world-wide leader in supplying gases, specialty chemicals and services to a wide variety of industries. Balazs Nanoanalysis operates analytical labs around the world serving both internal and external clients. We support clients in a wide array of industries including semiconductor, biotechnology, aerospace/defense industry, solar, energy storage, automotive and many others. Our highly-skilled chemists assist other scientists and engineers from companies in these fields to support a wide array of activities such as quality assurance, contamination studies, R&D and failure analysis.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
The selected candidate will be part of the Water Lab at our Fremont, CA lab in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, home of Silicon Valley.
Our Water Lab specializes in a wide variety of measurements including QC/QA, Failure Analysis and R&D support. We use analysis techniques including Ion Chromatography, Total Oxidizable Carbon (TOC), Dissolved and Total Silica, Particle Counts and Bacteria, and leaching of samples for subsequent analyses. The Laboratory Technician III will work in an exciting, fast-paced and dynamic environment and be part of an enthusiastic team passionate about providing quality data, maintaining documentation, and communicating with team members. A successful candidate must be able to provide scientific observation, follow procedure and be consistent.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sample receipt, log in and data entry and validation into the laboratory information management system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prioritize shift work assignments.
- Delivery and transportation of samples between the labs as required.
- Perform sample preparation and routine analysis, including but not limited to UPW samples, sample leaches, TOC, IC, dissolved and total silica, particle counts and bacteria.
- Prepare reagents and standards.
- Wash bottles and prepare sampling kits.
- Perform general maintenance and troubleshooting on assigned instruments to ensure they remain operational and minimize downtime.
- Maintain records for instrument calibrations and preventive maintenance.
- Aid in purchasing of lab supplies and reagents.
- Follow all SOPs and lab safety and quality requirements.
- Ensure that all activities within the lab are conducted in a safe manner and within company policies including local and federal regulations.
- Remain current on all training and foster a safe working environment.
- Understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals.
- Work collaboratively with team members on analyses as required.
- Communicate internally with the commercial team, other lab groups, and with customers.
- Updates the laboratory manager and supervisor on activities in the lab.
- Participates in continuous improvement efforts within the lab on improved methods and method development.
- Maintain 6S in the laboratory
- Complies with the established Quality System and reports quality deficiencies.
- Must be able to travel to customers' sites for sampling.
- Complete all other additional assignments as required.

Requirements
- Associates degree in chemistry or a similar science and 5 years experience OR BS in Chemistry or similar science and 0-1 years experience
- Ability to work in a team environment with good communication skills (both written and spoken).
- Work safely at all times and ensure a safety culture and a safe working environment in the laboratory.
- Administer safe laboratory practices, and keep all related safety trainings up to date.
- Must be able to provide support to other laboratory areas as needed.
- Must have good problem solving skills, take initiative and be self-motivated.
- Must be able to work under pressure and pivot on short notice.
- Proficient in computer skills such as LIMS, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Docs, Slides, etc.
- Must be able to lift heavy loads (+50 lbs) with the assistance of others.
The hourly rate range for this position in California is $34.00 to $36.00
