Position Summary:
- Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair machinery for cargo handling, including conveyors, pulleys, gearboxes, drag conveyors, structures, hydraulics, and support equipment.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform repairs and precision maintenance on conveyors, belting, compressors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, make recommendations for repairs, and adjust critical machine systems.
- Assemble and disassemble components, perform welding, cutting, grinding, and bolting for machine system modifications.
- Test and verify the correct operation of repairs and adjustments.
- Document repair and wrench time information in the company's CMMS program.
- Complete work safely and in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and report findings.
- Perform work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow shift work schedule, including possible evenings and weekends.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of millwright duties.
- Proficiency in welding and fabrication techniques (ARC, MIG).
- Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic principles and application.
- Knowledge of lubricants and maintenance best practices.
- Understanding of machinery alignments, including manual and laser methods.
- Ability to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, build prints, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with precision measuring devices.
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Mechanical aptitude related to structures, metallurgy, fasteners, rotating assemblies, gears, and material strength.
- Highly skilled in using hand tools, air tools, and various precision instruments.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including Caterpillar, Volvo, Komatsu, and Manitowoc.
- Certification as a Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) preferred.
- Availability for various shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to respond to call-outs as needed.
- Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) capability.
- Successful completion of background check, physical, and drug screen.
- Regular and dependable attendance.
Physical Requirements:
- Meet "fit for duty" requirements, including a pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds and working at heights up to 130 feet.
- Specific vision abilities required for the job.
- Work in dusty environments and various temperature/weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts 24/7/365.
