Job Summary:
The Construction Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the Project Management team to support various aspects of construction projects from preconstruction to closeout. This role involves assisting with project coordination, and documentation, and ensuring that construction activities comply with contract requirements and project schedules. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills and a proactive approach to solving field problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review design documents and provide feedback to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Assist with estimating and preconstruction services, including initial plan and specification reviews.
- Provide support to field staff to ensure smooth execution of project tasks.
- Produce and maintain construction documentation using Procore, including logs, reports, directories, and code-required documents.
- Assist the Project Manager with coordinating documentation for all project phases—preconstruction, construction, and closeout.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements and report potential field issues to the Project Manager or Superintendent.
- Update project schedules and communicate changes to subcontractors and project team members.
- Schedule and meet with inspectors to ensure compliance with all required standards.
- Process Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and submittals in a timely manner.
- Maintain effective communication with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop subcontractor scopes of work, coordinate bid documents, invite bids, and review subcontractor proposals.
- Coordinate closeout documentation and as-built drawings upon project completion.
- Perform duties at both project sites and the office as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience or a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proficiency in construction management software, particularly Procore.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with construction schedules and project planning.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and regulations.
