The Role
The Jewelry Designer is responsible for developing new concepts and ideas that will enhance the brand’s jewelry line. The role will work closely with our merchandise & design team and contribute from the concept to development process. Qualified candidate must present a portfolio of previous work and be willing to demonstrate skills by creating a custom design as part of the screening process.
This is a fulltime, in-office position with regular work hours of 9-5:30pm.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and executes product designs from conception to prototype that achieve overall product strategy and merchandise objectives.
- Sketch design ideas/concepts to convey ideas to the merchandising team.
- Partner with the design team to elaborate and expand design concepts and coordinate seasonal concepts, materials, and hardware.
- Research seasonal trends and develop new design concepts based on the trends to enhance the brand’s image in the market.
- Ensure designs meet merchant line plans, assortment strategies and overall creative direction.
- Prepare and finalize technical drawings of proposed product to be used for product development process and ensure specs are sent to factories.
- Create product presentations including boards, tear sheets, and samples and present new product assortment during line previews with internal partners.
- Research and recommend trends and color stories for each season and category.
- Adhere to design calendar and deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in art, design (or equivalent work experience) and 3+ years' experience designing fine jewelry
- Experience in Photoshop, Illustrator and 3D Software
- Previous metal accessory/fine jewelry design experience
- Ability to multi-task and shift direction quickly.
- Positive-minded, team player who enjoys working with a small team and is willing to expand responsibilities according to company needs.
- Technical package skills are a must
