One of our large Pharmaceutical clients is seeking a Senior Scientist to join their growing Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MSAT) organization in Andover, MA. This upstream cell culture and fermentation team supports late stage development and commercial biopharmaceuticals and vaccines, and responsible for process troubleshooting, process improvements, and second generation process development. This Sr. Scientist will be expected to plan and execute well-designed lab experiments in cell culture and/or fermentation with pre-defined goals. Other responsibilities include:
- Executing cell culture process development studies, utilizing bench scale (DeltaV automation) and high-throughput bioreactor (AmbrHT, Ambr250 and Ambr15) leading to enhanced productivity and high-quality product
- Implementing TFF perfusion bioreactor technology to improve process efficiency, achieving notable gains in both productivity and product characteristics.
- Authoring and reviewing technical protocols using Biovia eLN electronic lab notebook in a timely manner
- Plan and execute upstream process experiments at benchtop scales
- Analyzing data from experiments, employing statistical analysis (e,g JMP, Spotfire) and design of experiments (DoE) to drive decision-making processes
- Understand and adjust control and data acquisition systems
- Document results and present them to internal teams
- Assist in manufacturing investigations and process troubleshooting
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study
- 5+ years of bioprocessing experience
- Extensive mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique experience
- Prior experience working with bioreactors is preferred
Pay Range: $50.00-$65.00/hr (dependent and flexible based on experience)
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
Hiring Method:12 month-long contract with a high likelihood of extensions and/or permanent hire
