Calibration Manager to oversee daily operations and drive growth for site. Must possess both foresight and vision to develop the lab and collaborate closely with sales partners to implement plans successfully.
As Calibration Manager you will be able to harness your leadership abilities to drive our growth by empowering laboratory staff to enhance their calibration skills and streamline processes, ensuring robust quality systems.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize calibration practices to deliver innovative services and establish industry benchmarks for turnaround times.
- Develop productivity tools by leveraging current and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with auditors and teams to implement a robust quality system that ensures compliance with relevant standards.
- Lead teams and individuals to meet production demands, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee daily operations of the laboratory.
- Supervise a team of employees, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and legal requirements.
- Responsibilities include recruitment, training, workload management, performance reviews, and conflict resolution.
- Mentor management and technical leaders to create a succession plan for sustained growth.
- Establish goals for cross-training and onboarding new personnel.
- Conduct performance appraisals that recognize achievements, identify areas for improvement, and set objective goals.
- Engage directly with customers to fulfill their calibration requirements, incorporating their feedback to develop new services.
- Address nonconforming customer issues with corrective actions that ensure lasting solutions.
- Collaborate with Sales to develop offerings that meet customer needs and drive company success.
- Ensure seamless service integration between laboratory and on-site operations.
- Manage the Laboratory's P & L to achieve revenue, cost, and profit targets.
- Develop budgets and financial plans to enhance financial performance.
- Partner with sales and marketing teams to build business cases and justify investments in new equipment and market expansion.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement using lean enterprise tools to streamline processes and eliminate waste.
- Promote a climate of calculated risk-taking to pioneer industry-leading practices.
- Develop business plans to scale operations, addressing workforce planning, equipment utilization, and facility optimization.
- Ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory policies, taking corrective actions as needed.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in a technical field
- 7+ years experience in repair and calibration of instruments
- PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) or TMDE (Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment) training
- 2+ years in a supervisory capacity
- Military experience in the calibration field preferred
- CCT certification through ASQ is a plus
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
