Our client is a boutique CPA firm located in South Charlotte with the majority of its client base comprised of business owners. With 40 years of experience serving a clientele nationally, the firm continues to grow profitably and thus is seeking a Senior Tax Specialist with 3+ years of tax preparation experience. The position requires a knowledge in preparing S Corporation, Partnership and Sole Proprietor returns; further, experience in working with Ultra Tax and QuickBooks would be a plus as would experience in reviewing tax returns.
A major focus of the firm is working with State Farm insurance agents, and this segment of the business continues to grow as they serve State Farm agents in approximately 30 states. In addition to the tax interview and preparation process, the Senior Tax Specialist would assist these and other clients with planning throughout the year, and as there will be a lot of personal contact, individual communication skills are important.
The firm is very hands-on with clients, and the associates work as a team to provide the highest quality of services. The goal to hire an individual that will fit with this culture and who will enjoy working with business owners and other team members. Ideally, this candidate will grow and advance into an ownership role.
The position is office-based, and the hours are flexible during the year. During tax season, this position can expect to work 50-55 hours per week. After tax season, office hours are Monday-Thursday 8:30-5:00 and 8:30-12:30 on Fridays. The firm initially will offer 2 weeks of vacation or PTO, and in addition, they are typically closed for 14 days during the year to celebrate holidays and the end of tax season. Also, they offer a retirement program and group health insurance.
