Roles & Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, deploy and maintain Apache Kafka across different environments
- Continuously monitor and maintain multi-node high availability clusters using different monitoring tools.
- Plan and perform version upgrade of Kafka brokers, zookeeper and its related plug-ins
- Fine tune Kafka broker configuration for high volume data streaming.
- define and maintain broker level security by defining ACLs
- Responsible for Topic management and optimize configuration.
- Define data retention policies for topics on how long data is retained
- Plan and allocate resources (memory, CPU and disk size) both stream and replay scenarios
- Investigate, Analyze & troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kafka brokers, topics, consumers etc.
- Analyze & identify new plug-ins that need as per business needs
- Work with cross functional to teams to understand requirements or resolve issues
- Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline Kafka administration tasks (e.g., deployment, monitoring, scaling)
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science Engineering, computer information systems, management information systems, or a closely related field
- Proficient in Linux environment and capable to work on shell scripts.
- Should be capable playing a role of IC, team player or drive a team
- Should be self-motivated, achieve targets with minimum supervision.
- Overall experience of 6-8 years and at least 3 years as Kafka administrator
