Prominent law firm with a national presence has an immediate opening for a Litigation Secretary at their office location in downtown San Diego. Candidates must have at least 2+ years of experience supporting multiple attorneys. Fantastic opportunity to join a diligent and congenial practice group specializing in litigation defense.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Edit and format documents for various stages of the litigation process, including generation of Tables of Contents and Tables of Authority.
- Proofread and finalize legal documents and correspondence.
- E-File documents in state and federal courts.
- Manage multiple attorney calendars and monitor deadlines.
- Organize and maintain files within the firm's document management system.
- Draft correspondence and coordinate email distribution to the appropriate team members.
- Enter and finalize timekeeping records for attorneys and paralegals.
- Monitor client billing for accuracy and compliance.
- Schedule hearings, conferences, mediations, and other events.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and generate expense reports.
- Perform conflict checks and prepare engagement agreements for new clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2+ years of law firm experience supporting multiple litigation attorneys.
- Substantial experience e-filing in state and federal courts.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with document management and timekeeping software.
- Familiarity with State & Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
