About the Role: Optomi has partnered with an entertainment leader to find their next Senior Technical Program Manager. This companies streaming media engineering team is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager to join the Media Player Engineering team. As a Senior Program Manager, you will own the execution of high-profile features and products, with a focus on the unified media player. You will partner with the media player Apple team and the News Player Enablement team to manage media playback logic and integrate components into news products. This position requires strong technical knowledge, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a passion for managing complex projects from inception to delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end execution of programs or features, driving the product roadmap, specifications, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Break down complex projects into manageable deliverables, ensuring incremental progress in an Agile environment.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks; communicate trade-offs and manage expectations with internal teams and leadership.
- Lead Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, backlog grooming), and provide guidance on Agile best practices to improve team performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and program management teams to evolve and manage the overall roadmap, identify investments, and manage dependencies to ensure timely execution and delivery.
- Serve as the key communication liaison with internal teams and external partners across multiple time zones and locations.
- Understand the architecture and technical components of projects to improve planning and execution.
- Continuously work with other TPMs to refine program management processes, improve communication protocols, and enhance operational procedures for on-time and in-scope software delivery.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Technical Project Management, with a track record of shipping multiple features or products in an Agile environment.
- Ability to dive into technical details and contribute to overall technical design discussions.
- Strong ability to break down large projects into manageable chunks with a focus on quick and efficient product releases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with geographically dispersed teams.
- Eagerness to seek and implement feedback to continuously improve processes.
- Experience managing stakeholders and partners across time zones and diverse teams.
- Strong leadership skills with a passion for building collaborative, motivated teams.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with media players, video streaming technology, and digital content delivery.
- Experience working with Apple media products and playback logic.
- Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
