Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a Director of Development with a unique blend of software product development, data architecture, and software engineering leadership experience. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with external resources, data analysts, software engineers, and market-facing teams to manage and drive the product development and software engineering roadmap.
You will provide visionary technical leadership to a dynamic team of engineers, focusing on building next-generation systems for the gaming and hospitality sectors. This role requires a balance of strategic leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering innovative and high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Provide strategic direction in software development, with a strong focus on JavaScript and Node.js expertise.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and support a diverse team of engineers, developers, and technical staff to meet project objectives.
- Project Oversight: Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful project execution aligned with business goals.
- Technical Vision: Define and implement best practices across teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
- Agile Practices: Drive the adoption of agile methodologies to enhance development efficiency and team collaboration.
- Collaboration: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment while maintaining alignment with business needs.
- Code Quality: Ensure the delivery of high-quality code that meets industry standards and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in JavaScript, ES6, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Leadership Experience: 5+ years in software development, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- Front-end Knowledge: Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, etc.) and familiarity with database technologies.
- Agile Development: Strong knowledge of agile methodologies and project management practices.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to align technology strategies with business objectives.
