Our client, a real estate management company, is looking for to make their first in-house hire, to be based in Monsey, NY. They have been around 20 years and have a number of outside counsel they use, but it's come to a point where they believe having someone in-house will be both cost-effective and lead to better efficiency in day-to-day operations.
They are a recognized owner operator of multi-family buildings in the New York City and Tri-State area. They have over 4,000 residential units in its portfolio, with approximately 50% of those units being affordable housing units, either through Section 8 HAP contracts, LIHTC financing, or Regulatory Agreements with HPD, HDC, HCR and/or HFA.
The role would depend on experience and capabilities, with preference given to those who can do more. Comp will be higher for those who have the ability to take on more. Big plus for those who can draft lease agreements, etc. and respond to letters.
Ideal candidate will have 5-10 years'+ experience, with at least some biglaw exposure.
The culture is fully in-office, with flexibility when necessary.
