A family-oriented company in the oil and gas industry, is seeking a Senior Software Developer to maintain and enhance our proprietary ERP system. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance our proprietary ERP system, built in VB.Net and Visual Studio.
- Actively contribute to meaningful projects in a 90% backend/10% frontend development environment.
- Collaborate closely with a small, focused team to develop new software programs and improve business operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the ERP system and other business-critical software.
- Assist in various IT-related tasks, including user support, hardware maintenance, and cybersecurity efforts.
- Participate in database management tasks, ensuring optimal performance and integrity.
- Provide technical support to the organization, addressing software and IT infrastructure issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend development.
- Expertise in VB.Net, Visual Studio, and SQL databases.
- Proficiency in Node.js and experience with React is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of DB2 on IBM i (AS400) and Windows OS.
- Experience with RPG programming (legacy systems) is preferred.
- Ability to work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the trucking or transportation industry.
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies is a plus.
Work Environment & Benefits:
- Starts onsite full-time at Wooster, Ohio; hybrid option available after 6 months (2 days remote, 3 days onsite).
