Position Summary
Our group is primed to expand its reach in the local market and beyond. We are seeking an energetic and passionate workplace strategist to join our team in New York City. We are looking for a well-connected regional lead to drive project work and cultivate new relationships. This individual will work closely with a range of clients in finance, media, technology, and legal sectors to drive progressive workplace design and provide the tools and insights for better business decisions. Collaborating, innovating, and creating alongside your teammates, you will have the opportunity to drive strategic recommendations, develop new tools and processes, and champion impactful change for some of the biggest, boldest companies in the world. In addition to billable work, a significant responsibility of this role will be to develop new business leads and convert opportunities into project wins. This role will also contribute to a variety of internal efforts and initiatives that advance Ark’s brand awareness as an evidence-based practice and position us as a go-to expert in the world of work.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day project activities including the design and facilitation of client engagements, development of space programming and strategic briefing deliverables, and administration of change management programs
- Generate new project leads through industry network and cultivate leads into tangible project opportunities
- Play a central role in new business pursuits, including scope and fee construction, pitch preparation and delivery, development of marketing collateral, and work management planning
- Periodically contribute future-of-work thought leadership to our in-house Research Lab
- Remain active in local industry through speaking opportunities, conference attendance, event participation, society memberships, etc.
- This role is hybrid, working out of our New York office location 3-days per week
Reporting Structure
This position will report to the Managing Director of Ark, based in New York. Over time, an alternative reporting structure may be determined based on current studio structure or project workload.
Role Qualifications
- Advanced / professional degree in architecture, design, social or behavioral sciences, research methodology, or business required
- At least 10 years of professional experience in architecture, interior design, social sciences, or related disciplines; at least 5-7 years within a workplace strategy practice strongly preferred
- Strong existing network of client and consultant contacts highly desirable
- Significant in-room facilitation experience and the ability to confidently lead discussions with executives and senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills – strong graphic, written, and verbal presentation capabilities are a must
- Demonstrated proficiency with baseline tools such as Adobe CS, AirTable, Microsoft Suite, Google Collaborative Suite, Miro is highly desirable
The expected baseline salary range for this role is $130,000 - $165,000 annually. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider relevant experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
