Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our client's dynamic team in Austin, TX. This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Project Manager on multifamily apartment developments and to advance into a full Project Manager position within 12 months, based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing all aspects of multifamily construction projects from inception to completion.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives, schedules, and budgets are met.
- Review project plans and specifications and provide input during the pre-construction phase.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and provide solutions to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Conduct site visits to ensure quality standards, safety protocols, and timelines are adhered to.
- Support in preparing project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.
- Maintain regular communication with the client and stakeholders, providing updates and addressing concerns.
- Foster strong working relationships with the project team and external partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in construction project management, preferably within the multifamily sector.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar tools).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ambition and drive to advance to a Project Manager role within 12 months.
