Job Title: Data Governance Consultant
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Data Governance Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in Data Governance and Data Management, with a strong background in data retention and purging. This role involves working closely with various Data Owners and potentially the Legal team to ensure compliance with data governance policies and procedures. The candidate should be proficient in utilizing a scheduling tool for data management tasks(preferably Solix).
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Data Owners and stakeholders across the organization to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Work with the Legal team to ensure data governance practices comply with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Oversee data retention and purging processes, ensuring they are executed in accordance with organizational policies.
- Utilize Solix for scheduling and managing data governance tasks.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of data governance practices and policies.
- Provide training and support to Data Owners and other stakeholders on data governance best practices.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to data governance policies, procedures, and practices.
- Monitor and report on data governance metrics and performance indicators.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data governance and data management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience with data retention and purging processes.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Familiarity with DG tool for scheduling and data management tasks.
- Experience working with legal and regulatory requirements related to data governance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, including Data Owners and Legal teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Professional certifications in data governance or data management (e.g., DAMA, CDMP) are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a consulting role or working with multiple clients.
- Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Experience with other data governance tools and technologies.
