About the Role:
Job Title: Technical Product Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Vision and Strategy: Collaborate with business teams to take concepts and ideas and develop a clear vision for airport operations-related products. Define the product strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Backlog Management: Create and maintain a detailed product backlog, breaking down functionality into user stories and tasks. Prioritize the backlog based on business value and technical feasibility.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate conversations between business users and IT teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of requirements. Act as a liaison to bridge the gap between business needs and technical implementation.
- Domain Expertise: Leverage domain knowledge in airport operations, including areas such as baggage handling, ramp operations, and passenger services. Understand the KPIs, metrics, and operational ecosystem to drive product success.
- Consulting Capability: Build and develop consulting practices within the airport operations domain, providing expertise and guidance to other programs. Mentor and support team members to enhance their domain knowledge and consulting skills.
- Project Management: Ensure the successful delivery of projects by managing timelines, resources, and risks. Coordinate with engineering managers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and implementation.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices. Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to enhance product development and delivery.
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably in airport operations or a related field.
- Previous experience in the airline industry is mandatory.
- Experience in either baggage handling or finance within airport operations is required.
- Strong understanding of product management principles, including backlog management, user story creation, and prioritization.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
- Domain expertise in airport operations, including baggage handling, ramp operations, and passenger services.
- Experience in building and developing consulting practices within an organization.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to think strategically and translate business concepts into actionable product visions.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for driving innovation and delivering high-quality products.
Location: Chicago, IL (Occasional travel required)
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $120000 - $140000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skill, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
