DESCRIPTIONDwyer Workforce Development's (DWD) mission is to provide comprehensive support to individuals who lack opportunity and aspire to pursue a career in the healthcare industry, alleviate a severe healthcare workforce shortage, and improve the lives of seniors.
Position Summary: Provide program intake and enrollment services, and coordinate training and program support for prospective and new Dwyer Scholars.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop a good working knowledge of agency mission, vision, and philosophy.
- Engage with prospective Dwyer Scholar applicants and collect data to determine program eligibility based on DWD policies, application information provided and required documentation.
- Work with Dwyer Scholars to identify barriers to success during initial engagement; use self-sufficiency development tools and resource solutions and action plans to eliminate barriers before and during the training process.
- Manage program supportive services for and with Scholars during pre-training and training program.
- Maintain follow up contact and provide supportive wraparound services as required, with Scholars through telephone, mail, e-mail, Dwyer App, in-person visits, and text messages pre-training and throughout the training program.
- Responsible for thoroughly and accurately documenting program service encounters with Dwyer Scholar and Trainers, program activities and interventions as well as demographic information in the database management system for improvement and evaluation.
- Deliver pertinent DWD program information, during both in-person and on-line training programs, to Dwyer Scholars, as needed.
- Maintain current and confidential record keeping systems including updating contacts notes and tracking the progress of Dwyer Scholars in meeting training goals in the database management system.
- Support recruitment activities, job fairs and/or community events as needed.
- Must maintain client confidentiality and abide by the Data Privacy Act.
- Demonstrate teamwork by cooperating with and assisting co-workers as needed.
- Attend required meetings, training, seminars, and conferences as needed/required to enhance expertise and professionalism in agency activities as scheduled by the Director and/or funding source, outside agencies to fulfill job/project(s) requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
- Knowledge of local community resources and social services in applicable geographic area.
- Demonstrate cultural competency - able to work with diverse groups of community members.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills as well as leadership and motivational skills.
- Be highly organized and work independently.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 or more years' experience working with human service agencies/programs BA or BS degree in social work/human service degree or related field encouraged.
- Working knowledge of modern office communication systems: e-mail, voice mail, computer systems, database management systems and ability to operate various office equipment such as fax, copy machine and calculator.
License/Certification: Driver's license and access to a vehicle required.
