Chief Information Officer

Hybrid, three days in-office
Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000
The CIO is responsible for focusing on the Company’s information systems. You will work closely with stakeholders and technology partners and include industry best practices to architect technology solutions needed to drive alignment of business needs and lead discussions to arrive at mutually agreeable solution options and integrations. In this role, you will work actively with the top executive team to align Tech strategy with business leaders. Your role will also ensure the various department leadership teams have the necessary information technology tools to fulfill their responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
- Develop IT strategies and plans that support and align with the organization’s goals.
- Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources.
IT Management:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to IT staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the management of all IT operations and evaluate them according to established goals.
- Ensure IT systems and processes operate reliably and securely to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers, ensuring services delivered align with agreed-upon contracts and service level agreements (SLAs).
IT Infrastructure:
- Lead the IT infrastructure team.
- Ensure that IT infrastructure supports both current and future organizational needs efficiently and effectively.
Regulatory Compliance and Information Security:
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to IT systems and data management.
- Implement controls and measures to mitigate IT-related risks and ensure data integrity and privacy.
- Maintain robust information security management frameworks and practices.
- Oversee security policies, protocols, and procedures to protect organizational data.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Develop and manage IT budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial objectives.
- Optimize spending and resource allocation across the IT organization to maximize efficiency and return on investment.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Communicate IT plans, policies, and activities to key stakeholders, including senior management, board members, and other relevant parties.
- Provide regular updates on IT performance, projects, and initiatives, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities.
Position Requirements
- Degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or comparable experience.
- 10 or more years of experience in IT management roles.
- Experience in technology as it relates to a Property & Casualty Carrier.
- Some exposure in cyber regulation compliance.
- Experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and policy development.
- Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including telecommunications, networks, media, and desktops.
- Exposure to business theory, business processes, management, budgeting, and business office operations.
- Excellent understanding of project management principles.
- Proven experience in planning, organization, and staff development.
- Ability to develop an understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to technology issues.
- Experience in implementing new business applications.
