Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Roaster to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep love for coffee, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of the roasting process. This role requires a blend of technical skill and creativity to develop and perfect unique coffee profiles that delight our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain coffee roasting equipment.
- Develop and refine coffee roast profiles to achieve desired flavor characteristics.
- Source and evaluate green coffee beans to ensure quality and consistency.
- Monitor and adjust roasting parameters to maintain product standards.
- Conduct regular cupping sessions to evaluate roast quality.
- Collaborate with the team to create new and innovative coffee products.
- Maintain detailed records of roast profiles and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards in the roasting facility.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a coffee roaster, preferably in a boutique or specialty coffee setting.
- In-depth knowledge of coffee beans, roasting techniques, and flavor profiles.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.
- Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move coffee bags and equipment as needed.
