The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Financial Planning and Strategy to lead a team of Business Planning & Finance professionals to drive the Grand Casinos Strategic Business Planning, Financial Planning & Reporting activities. This role will provide financial leadership and deliver insights to support executive decision-making. This role is pivotal in driving financial excellence, supporting Grand Casinos strategic objectives, and ensuring the sustainable growth of our gaming entities. The position also serves as a trusted expert to Senior Executives on major business initiatives
What you get to do
- Financial Leadership: Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) functions for the Gaming Strategy team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Present financial plans and detailed analysis of plan assumptions to senior leadership.
- Strategic Partner: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Financial Planning: Direct the development and consolidation of the business financial plans, including long range plans, annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cash & capital budgets
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities. Lead the revision of forecasts based on actuals and changes in the business landscape.
- Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data analytics to provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Risk Management: Oversee risk management and compliance functions, ensuring all financial practices adhere to regulations and internal policies.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

What Qualifies You
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 8 years in a senior leadership role leading strategic planning, finance, or business intelligence functions.
- Proven experience in the gaming or entertainment industry with strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
- Successful track record of business and financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, and can effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies, and financial plans.
- Must be able to secure a license from Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA).
- Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR’s).
- Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
