Dagen Personnel is recruiting an Import/Export Compliance Analyst for an instrumentation technology company in The Woodlands that offers a hybrid schedule.
This is a direct-hire position.
Summary:
The Import/ Export Specialist will be central in offering procedural direction and aiding the company's personnel in resolving intricate import/export matters. They will conduct regular evaluations of the company's import/export operations and oversee other business and program endeavors that influence import/export compliance. This role will predominantly act as the in-house authority on export/import regulations. Moreover, they will be responsible for devising, managing, and implementing systems and protocols to guarantee adherence to export/import laws and regulations, both domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate import/export trade updates and notifications and ensure their distribution to all divisions.
- Establish and uphold an Import Compliance Policy manual to guarantee adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Corporate Policies.
- Conduct regular internal audits of import and export transactions for all America's divisions to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Additionally, pinpoint and resolve any compliance issues, providing recommendations based on audit findings and identifying risks if needed.
- Provide training sessions on government laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures for import/export trade compliance.
- Providing support for America's regional implementation of Global Corporate Compliance policies and programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) is preferred; however, candidates with 5 or more years of experience in import/export administration will be considered.
- Profound understanding of U.S. import and export control laws and regulations, particularly Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as well as familiarity with international trade regulations and Schedule B/HTS codes.
- Certification in relevant areas is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in defining Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCN) according to the Commerce Control List (CCL), with the ability to seek support from technical staff when needed.
- Self-motivated, and highly organized, with excellent planning skills and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
