Job Description: As a Software Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing software contracts, negotiating agreements, and optimizing our procurement strategies. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that we select the right products and suppliers, achieve the best pricing and terms, and maintain high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Negotiations: Oversee and negotiate large-scale software agreements, including perpetual, term, and subscription-based contracts.
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement strategies to optimize pricing and reduce costs while managing risk.
- Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, and act as the escalation point for any performance issues.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders to understand needs, develop requirements, and drive strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage complex contracts to ensure compliance and align with organizational goals.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze various software cost models, perform business analysis with a focus on total cost of ownership, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Market Research: Conduct research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their financial stability and performance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in software procurement, contract negotiation, and contract management.
- Knowledge of various software types, including perpetual, term, and subscription agreements, as well as IT products.
- Experience with electronic procurement or contract solutions (1-3 years preferred).
- Strong understanding of information technology and software terminology.
