Position Summary
The Director of IT (Information Technology) will oversee the IT department, ensuring that all technology systems and solutions align with the company's strategic objectives. This role includes managing IT staff, planning and implementing IT initiatives, and ensuring the security and efficiency of the organization's IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for managing both infrastructure and data service teams.
Reports to CIO
Requires a "get your hands dirty" approach with proven cross collaboration that bridges multiple departments.
Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities
Essential Functions:
Advanced Strategic Planning and Implementation:
• Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization's business goals.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for their integration into the company's IT infrastructure.
--Prepare and present to upper management re financial analysis and strategic planning initiatives.
IT Operations Management:
• Oversee the daily operations of the IT department, ensuring the reliable performance of all IT systems and networks.
• Manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with strategic goals.
Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities for IT staff.
Security and Compliance:
• Ensure the security of the IT infrastructure and data, implementing best practices for cybersecurity.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
Project Management:
• Oversee IT projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Coordinate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Experience designing, implementing, and deploying technical solutions.
Vendor Management:
• Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms.
Support and Troubleshooting:
• Provide high-level support for IT-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
• Duties and responsibilities may change with or without notice.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
Experience:
• 8-10 years of experience in IT management or a related role.
• Proven experience overseeing IT teams and projects.
• Proven experience in strategic planning and execution of IT initiatives.
• Track record of success in optimizing processes and cross functional collaboration.
• Well-rounded with the implementation of Cloud and in-house technology platforms.
Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent understanding of computer systems, networks, security, telecommunications, databases and storage systems.
• In-depth understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
• Proficiency in project management and budget management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Meet all physical requirements of the position.
• Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
