Purchasing Manager
Contract, through Dec. 31st 2025
Pay: $45-50hr
Lees Summit, MO
Experience Requirements:
- Five years of experience in purchasing or a related field.
- Leadership experience managing a small team
- Experience utilizing a modern ERP system (SAP, JD Edwards, etc.)
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Manages internal and external customer/supplier relationships
2. Measures the performance of the supply base and ensures reporting processes are in place
3. Develops strategically integrated sourcing strategies
4. Leverages total cost reductions and quality improvement recommendations
5. Evaluates new material, supply and service developments
6. Reviews and interprets supplier contracts
7. Oversees the approval and control of the purchasing function of the facility
8. Monitors and ensures quality resolution mechanisms are in place and working
9. Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing,
hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance
management; department budget
10. Performs other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements:
- Comprehensive understanding of integrated supply chain management including principles, methods and
- practices related to procurement and/or purchasing
- Well-developed organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of people
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment and make critical decisions
- Ability to lead diverse teams through complex projects
- Thorough understanding of how to select and build appropriate supply strategies based on operational needs
