Manifest Solutions is currently seeking a Junior Field Technician for a position in Columbus, OH.
- Installs and tests software on stand-alone computers.
- Troubleshoots and repairs hardware and software related issues on district end point computers.
- Configures and installs computer workstations.
- Diagnoses and resolves critical and non-critical hardware and software problems on a timely basis.
- Provides technical assistance to end users, IT Service Desk, and peers, utilizing technical information provided through vendor relationships, hardware manufacturers and process manuals.
- Responds to technology service desk trouble tickets to resolve personal computer problems through on-site or remote simulation and/or re-creation of the user's problem.
- Documents steps taken to diagnose and resolve customer problems and closes trouble tickets; maintains records of statistics and tracking requirements, and hardware and software maintenance and repair.
- Installs, upgrades, and maintains a variety of software applications and computer hardware, including peripherals.
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs software and hardware problems.
- Closes trouble tickets upon completion of services or resolution of problem.
- Performs backup activities and restoration of files as needed.
- Participates in testing and implementation of new systems and procedures.
- Works with staff and the departments to integrate technology solutions into the classrooms.
- Maintains a record of hardware and software in use at assigned locations. This could include but is not limited to: Chromebooks, desktops, laptops, tablets, and printers.
- Prepares required documentation and reports.
- Maintains complete and accurate records and files by updating the districts ITSM software.
- May be asked to support evening or weekend events or readiness initiatives (this is on a limited and minimal basis)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- CompTIA A+ Certification.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience consisting of installation, configuration, testing, and repair of endpoint hardware and software in an enterprise IT environment may be used in place of certification requirement.
- Valid State of Ohio driver’s license.
- Skill in using analysis equipment and entering keyboard commands to diagnose server, software, and hardware issues.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to work with various levels of district staff and external vendors/consultants in the resolution of a variety of technology issues. Required to communicate technical information in non-technical terms.
- Written skills necessary to maintain various departmental records, documents, and reports.
- Physical ability to install and repair computer equipment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills with demonstrated experience of practicing both.
