The U. S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) is seeking a Social Scientist to work with the Cultural Resources Team within our Training Lands and Heritage Branch. ERDC-CERL conducts research to support the Army, Department of Defense, and the Nation.
DUTIES
- Analyzing/documenting historic structures
- Writing architecture descriptions
- Search, retrieve, and analyze archival documents
- Use historic maps, real estate records, or other archival material to conduct research.
- Write historical narratives that set forth a balanced picture of the historical topics researched
- You may be required to travel up to 25% time
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as: history.
- U. S. Citizenship is required for this position.
This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project, and the DB-02 pay band includes the General Schedule equivalent to the GS-5/11 level.
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for STRL Mission Support Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
