Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Plumber at Redwood Pipe and Drain in Scotts Valley, CA. The Junior Plumber will be responsible for conducting plumbing repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks, as well as troubleshooting plumbing systems alongside plumber apprentice.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to confidently use a wider array of specialized plumbing tools. Familiarity with power tools commonly used in the trade.
Performing Basic Repairs and Installations: Can perform common plumbing repairs and installations independently, such as fixing leaky faucets, installing hot water heaters, unclogging drains, installing toilets and sinks, etc.
Plumbing Code Knowledge: Has a basic understanding of local and international plumbing codes and ensures that all work performed complies with these codes.
Diagnostic Skills: Can troubleshoot basic plumbing issues and come up with appropriate solutions.
Basic Customer Service Skills: Can interact with customers effectively, understanding their needs and explaining the work to be done.
Job Site Management: Can efficiently organize a workspace, keeping it clean and safe.
Preparation and Planning: Can plan the materials and tools needed for a job. Independently Demonstrates effective tool prep and organization as well as material. Is independently able to manage work truck maintenance and prep daily, and demonstrates job preparedness.
Pay Range: $22-26/hr
At Level 2, a plumber should keep a truck clean and well stocked at all times as well as keeping tools organized and prepared. They should be able to perform common tasks independently and start to develop diagnostic and problem-solving skills. They'll also have a deeper understanding of plumbing codes and start to interact directly with customers. While supervision is still required, especially for complex tasks, a Level 2 plumber can handle simpler jobs on their own.
