Director of Family Services
Arc Broward is looking for a Director of Family Services (DFS) to lead our Family Strengthening and Respite Care with Enrichment programs and our Intake, Social Services, and Case Management within our Children’s Division!
The DFS provides positive and supportive leadership that promotes and reinforces a culture that values, supports, and appreciates team members and aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. The DFS is responsible to ensure highest quality of person-centered services and supports to families of children with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities.
Essential Job Functions/Duties
Effectively plan and oversee the provision of direct supports and Individual Person-Centered Planning, program design, and service delivery with fidelity to the service models for children and families.
Coordinate and oversee personnel management activities including hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation to ensure compliance with HR policies and regulatory requirements and team and staff development activities. He/she manages 3 – 5 direct reports and supports a department comprised of approximately 20 team members.
Ensure fiscal integrity by managing department budgets in accordance with sound and responsible practices.
Effectively ensure compliance with all contracts, policies, procedures, and regulations. Review and submit required reports for funders in accordance with executed contracts
Successfully promote public relations by educating community members about persons with disabilities and the organization’s mission and advocating for the rights and responsibilities individuals with disabilities.
Effectively oversee the enrollment and disenrollment of children and families.
Effectively oversee the management of participant records
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Child and Family Services, Human Services Administration, Special Education, or related field required.
- Ability to work effectively managing multiple tasks. Excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail oriented. Values data driven activities.
- Experience managing complex contracts with governmental funders, foundations, and other stakeholders including performance/outcomes management.
- Experience leading large, diverse teams and coaching team members.
- Experience leading family strengthening, parent education and social service programs for children with disabilities and their families.
