POSITION
We are seeking an Associate Chief Operating Officer to join our Regeneration Schools team. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Associate Chief Operating Officer will serve as a vitally important leader in our organization and help drive the success of our schools. The Associate Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for ensuring that schools operate at the highest level, with systems in place that allow teachers and Principals to focus on instruction and academic achievement.
This role demands a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, strategic vision, and a commitment to educational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Directors of Operations (DOs) lead outstanding school operations (e.g., daily school systems, facilities, financial management, food & transportation, student & staff culture, enrollment management, etc.)
- Hold DOs accountable to performance metrics, and support them in improving performance and meeting goals
- Build, implement, and monitor cross-regional operations initiatives
- Support hiring, on-boarding, management, and evaluation of all operations staff, including DOs and school-based operations teams
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and implement appropriate protocols for emergency preparedness.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services within budgetary constraints.
- Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to assess operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Staff Development: Provide leadership and mentorship to operational staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
Qualifications
- Passionate commitment to the mission of ReGeneration Schools and investment in our vision
- Demonstrated experience with effectively managing, developing, and retaining team members;
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills and ability to work towards a common vision with various partners (e.g. school leaders, regional leaders, Home Office teams, ReGeneration families);
- Ability to effectively and strategically prioritize between multiple high-leverage, high-risk issues; outstanding judgment and understanding of the implications of decisions on schools and partners;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-change organization;
- Excellent organization, time management, and follow-up skills; ability to demonstrate an appropriate sense of urgency.
Required Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience and a track record of success in school operations management;
- Experience managing a team to strong outcomes;
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, and a graduate degree in business or operations is highly preferred.
