As the Process Safety Management (PSM) Engineer, you will be responsible for process safety effort across the facility. You will interface with the appropriate Health and Safety and manufacturing resources to resolve implement or delegate process safety requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and demonstrate a commitment to achieving Zero Harm through behavior-based safety practices.
- Ensure adherence to relevant HSE performance standards, objectives, and regulations.
- Facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies.
- Manage and audit existing process safety programs, including the site-wide Management of Change (MOC) program.
- Drive process safety by identifying corrective actions and overseeing their implementation to completion.
- Set and track goals and metrics for continuous improvement of the PSM program.
- Lead the development and implementation of process safety standards and management systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk management, competency development, program consistency, and ongoing performance enhancement.
- Coordinate process safety training across the site.
- Support the implementation of site safety and health programs.
- Facilitate site safety incident investigation teams.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering degree required.
- Experience or education in the chemical industry required.
- 5+ years demonstrated safety skills in an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Experience with OSHA laws compliance and requirements.
- Good working knowledge of the Quality Assurance program and safety processes through previous assignments.
- Ability to provide direction and coaching to others in an effective leadership manner and foster teamwork and collaboration.
- Knowledge of basic investigative techniques for root cause analysis.
- Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
