Job: Business Analyst- Underwriting
Location: On-site 3x/week in Philadelphia
Duration: Contract to hire
Looking for a Business Analyst that is very confident and can communicate with an executive level audience. The best candidate will be outgoing, confident, and have excellent communication skills as they will work with all audience levels. Adaptability and multitasking are critical for the success for this role. The ability to work well under general supervision and work well independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility will be for the analysis, understanding, documenting of Actuarial and underwriting business requirements.
- Understand and utilize best practices in documenting and maintaining business process artifacts.
- Support business SME and technical staff in the resolution of technical and data issues.
- Assist in testing to ensure business requirements are met and software is implemented in a defect free manner.
- Ability to document accurate business requirements and business process flows. Basic SQL skills. Ability to perform root cause analysis on data and systems issues.
- Knowledge of Microsoft office suite of protocols (Word, Access, and Excel)
- Must be detail oriented, analytical, skilled in problem solving and knowledge of insurance concepts and rating techniques. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of business analysis methods and best practices.
