Our manufacturing client with offices in The Woodlands is seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead the Information Technology (IT) department, guiding the overall planning, and implementation of systems and platforms. This position will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with both internal teams and external business partners, blending leadership with the delivery of ongoing IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and enhance the IT team across all locations. Oversee IT assets and manage relationships with vendors. Collaborate with department heads to identify and implement IT improvements that optimize performance.
- Ensure the seamless operation and security of IT services throughout the company.
- Ensure full integration of NetSuite across the business.
- Implement IT improvements to enhance accuracy and a streamlined system across all sites.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing IT team. Evaluate current staff roles and skillsets, adjusting as needed.
- Review and adjust IT vendor relationships, and negotiate contracts.
- Safeguard the company’s IT systems and ensure compliance with security standards. Partner with third-party vendors for risk assessments and cybersecurity testing.
- Standardize IT practices across all locations, with documented procedures and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure effectiveness.
- Provide IT budgeting insights to support the company’s annual budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field required; master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- At least 15 years of IT experience, with 7+ years in leadership roles.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
- Experience managing remote IT teams across multiple locations.
- Expertise in evaluating, planning, and implementing IT projects with a focus on cost-effectiveness and value.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing new systems and working with both cloud-based and legacy platforms.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills, especially in fast-paced environments.
- Background in cybersecurity and disaster recovery planning.
- Proven experience with agile methodologies and product management.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly explain the business impact of IT initiatives.
- Ability to travel 20-30%, with higher travel initially to assess practices and meet with team members.
