WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TECHNICAL TRAINING MANAGER

Position Overview: This is a technical, metal forming industry skills knowledge position. The Technical Training Manager will be performing onsite and in-house training sessions, webinars, workshops, and other industry skills activities. Ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following industries: tool and die, tool engineering, metal stamping/forming/fabricating.
The Workforce Development Technical Training Manager will provide support to the Workforce Development Technical Training Director (TD) and be responsible for assisting with a wide range of technical training activities, including the creation, facilitation, and implementation of member‐focused programs to meet the needs of the client’s members and the metal forming industry. Specifically, conducting technical metal forming skills training to improve basic skills and employability of new and incumbent workers.
Core Responsibilities:
- Work with the District Director to identify underserved technical skills knowledge and educational needs that may be specific to certain metal forming technologies or geographical regions (e.g. high-speed stamping, light-weighting in automotive markets, medical device manufacturing) along with analyzing demand for traditional metal stamping, die design, and maintenance fundamentals skills training
- Assist TD with evaluating, updating, developing, and instructing on, new and current technical programs, signature events, and workshops (in-person, virtual, and hybrid), addressing technologies and/or specific needs of the industry, including those of non-member companies.
- Provide educational solutions through developing/delivering seminars, webinars, and content development in metal forming technologies/skills for our online, on-demand course platform.
- Collaborate with outside organizations (NIMS, education providers, research institutes, etc.) to identify applications and technologies, along with skills and qualifications required for effective technical performance for the immediate and long-term success of the metal forming and tool & die industries, through active involvement and participation with related associations, research groups, academia, and government agencies.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Share information at Client and other events, assist with technically based marketing and communications planning. Present in multiple formats as needed – webinars, district and national events, program tracks, internal/external meetings etc. Attend and actively participate in events and meetings as required.
- Act as one of the internal subject matter experts on metal forming to provide support to staff, customers, members, and prospects.
- Ensure that programs and services are delivered and any required reporting for onsite training is completed.
- Support leadership team in ensuring that technical programs and services meet financial expectations.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Maintain relationships with our members and North American organizations that work within the manufacturing, training, advocacy, and other related spaces for the purpose of growing our workforce development portfolio and influence.
- Assist membership team with technical training solutions/advice in their interactions with existing and potential members. In collaboration with the WFD team, grow online platform users and revenue through new content and sales.

Essential Skills:
- BA degree or apprenticeship completion
- Experience in the metal forming industry
- General computer/keyboarding capabilities with Microsoft Office proficiency – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
