The R&D Technologist will be responsible for leading and supporting new product development, cost optimization projects and commercialization projects directly from product manufacturing facilities, focusing on technical knowledge of thermally processed foods. This position will frequently interact with quality control, warehouse, and production departments to ensure R&D processes are efficient, cost effective, and meet best in class company standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage plant trials in collaboration with operations, ensuring proper trial setup, data and sample collection, and timely delivery of trial reports
- Actively participate in pre- and post-trial meetings, finished product evaluations, and shelf-life testing
- Identify, analyze, and implement changes or improvements to existing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data across various R&D projects, ensuring accuracy and reliability
- Maintain R&D pilot plant and laboratory facilities, ensuring a safe, organized, and fully operational environment
- Conduct regular equipment maintenance, manage inventory, and adhere to safety and regulatory standards
- Ensure all R&D activities comply with company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards
- Adhere to GMP, HACCP, and other food safety standards during the R&D process
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food Sciences, Science or Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role in the food manufacturing industry
- Strong understanding of R&D processes
