EVENTS MANAGER
Public Programs Division
FUNCTION
The events manager (EM) will work with staff in all divisions of SAR programs to plan, manage, and produce events. Type of events include lectures, artist talks, receptions, fundraising/donor events, and others. SAR events may be in-person, virtual, or hybrid for 12 to 800 people both on campus and off-site. Position is full-time, exempt.
DUTIES
· Support live event management in collaboration with other SAR staff
· Manage box office in event management platforms, such as Eventbrite; create events, track sales data, input comp tickets, manage refunds, prepare check-in lists, create ticket reports
· Run front-of-house by interacting with audience guests, overseeing front-of-house staffing, box office activity, and monitoring when to ‘open doors’ on schedule, etc.
· Assist in A/V and technical production of live events, as well as supporting webinars or other live-streamed events
· Coordinate event dates and contracts with venues
· Assist SAR sponsors in coordinating travel and accommodations with and for guest presenters
· Coordinate volunteers for events
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least one year experience working events. Ability to learn appropriate technology, digital platforms, PC and Apple computers, audio/video technologies, and web technologies. The EM will have exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in the context of planning and carrying out live events. Hospitality experience a plus.
