In House Regulatory Counsel (Medicare): Hybrid Onsite
You will be joining a large legal team and become a Managed Care expert (MediCare). You will advise on regulatory and compliance issues, and a critical HIPAA advisor. The company is subject to the Brown Act and transparency is key! This company is growing and very dynamic. The legal team acts as a flat organization and serves the community, Board, and leadership team.
This Counsel is onsite 3 days per week (Tuesday-Thursday). The Counsel reports to the General Counsel and the legal team has excellent career stability!
Responsibilities:
- Dive deep into legal research: Conduct comprehensive research on various legal topics to prepare insightful legal memorandums and executive briefings for leadership.
- Be a Subject Matter Expert & Trust Managed Healthcare Advisor: Attend meetings with different business units, analyze legal implications, and recommend effective courses of action. The company handles Medicare, Medical, & Covered California.
- Stay ahead of the curve: Provide strategic counsel on the legal impact of new or proposed regulations and government requirements.
- Embrace collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with regulatory and business attorneys, other professionals, and paralegals on cross-functional legal matters.
- Champion data privacy: Ensure the privacy and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) according to HIPAA compliance policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Licensed in California
- Ability to commute to Inland Empire 3 days/week
- Managed care experience
