Job Description:
This position is responsible for the daily operation of the Sterilization Fumigation area of the production facility. This will encompass the operation of the Sterilization chambers, Nieco Fumigation chambers and the Heating chambers. The position will require having a full understanding of the Flow of materials FG and WIP to ensure proper treatment of material based on company requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as intermediary between team members and management to create healthy communication.
- Carry out production schedules to proper execution.
- Must be Fork Lift Certified by Diamond Foods
- Must be able to operate PPO and Fumigation Equipment as needed.
- Work with computer-based systems JDE, DSI, Markem
- Ensure that all department adheres to Diamond Foods safety and quality standards including GMPs and Safety Accountability Matrix
- Must have relevant food manufacturing knowledge.
- Position requires occasional exercise of decision making, problem solving, policy or procedure interpretation and facilitation skills.
- Lead projects and assignments in a time efficient manner.
- Support Cycle count and Inventory functions in the department.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education: HS Diploma or equal
- QAC license must be obtained within training period.
- Input Material – Monitor product for defects and assure product size, bleached/unbleached and dryness are within standards.
- Finish Product Quality – Constantly monitor finished bags of product for appearance, Day Code and other printing and the back, side and end sealing.
- Safety protocols associated with treatment and off gassing process
- Actively coach team members during production hours to ensure quality product is produced.
- SAFETY
- Comply with safety rules.
- Attend, participate, and carry out Safety Training.
- Participate actively in the safety process to identify and correct safety issues.
- Demonstrate understanding and application of a Lock out Tag Out procedure.
- Report all accidents and injuries immediately.
- Submit suggestions to improve safety and safety improvement implementation.
- Knowledge of GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Food Industry experience
- Basic to intermediate computer skills, usage of Microsoft Suite and JDE.
- Minimum High School diploma or GED. Minimum 2-5 years food manufacturing experience.
- Bi-Lingual is preferred.
- Candidate must be willing to work any shift and weekends.
