What You Will Be Doing
A reputable company in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking an HVAC Construction Installer. This role involves installing sheet-metal ducts, pipefitting, and equipment installation. Ideal candidates are self-motivated team players with the ability to professionally install or modify HVAC systems while focusing on customer satisfaction.
The Ideal Candidate
- Installation Knowledge: Learn and apply trade knowledge for proper HVAC system installation.
- Safety Compliance: Follow company and industry safety guidelines, including proper PPE use.
- Punctuality: Arrive at project sites on time and work designated hours.
- Blueprint Reading: Read and work from blueprints, sketches, and oral instructions. Basic math skills required.
- Tool Proficiency: Acquire and become proficient in the use of trade-required tools.
- Physical Readiness: Maintain good physical condition for task efficiency.
Other Essential Functions
- Lifting: Ability to lift or maneuver materials up to 100 lbs.
- Climbing: Climb ladders up to 40 feet tall and navigate numerous flights of stairs.
- Material Handling: Carry bulky materials across uneven surfaces.
- Coordination and Motion: Lift from the floor, arm level, and above head. Quickly move hands to grasp and assemble objects. Bend, push, and pull while installing materials.
- Tool Operation: Operate power and hand tools repetitively and withstand normal torque
- Varied Locations: Work in both outdoor and indoor environments.
- Exposure: Occasionally exposed to inclement weather, wet conditions, extreme temperatures, dust, poor ventilation, odors, poor lighting, loud noise, and cluttered environments.
- Flexible Hours: Overtime, night work, and out-of-town work requiring overnight lodging may be required.
