Brand/Product Focus: Halston Suits
Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District
Success Profile:
Design Room Technical Designer – Work with Design Director and Head Designer to create tech packs for showroom samples. Manage product lifecycle from sketch through showroom sample completion. Must be able to work independently and understand proportion and achieve the look of the sketch without a lot of hands-on help from Designers. Keep a calendar of all SRS dates to ensure all deadlines are met for market appointments.
Key Accountabilities:
- Product Lifecycle Management: Manage product lifecycle from sketch through showroom sample completion.
- Collaborate with Design and Production creating cost effective styles
- Technical Specification: Generate computerized technical specification packages; Review and evaluate samples for spec, pattern, shape, and construction.
- Systems: Use PLM, File Maker (we will teach) and photoshop.
- Communication: Communicate with overseas offices and vendors to identify and resolve issues with garment construction.
- Keep a calendar of all SRS dates to ensure all deadlines are met for market appointments.
- Help coordinate fabric delivery from suppliers to factories for samples, including helping to Fed-ex fabric from NYC.
- Corrections and Approvals: Utilize digital photos, technical sketches, detailed instructions and comments to communicate corrections.
- Request FDS information and all other information for the File Maker cost card.
- Responsible to make sure cost cards are updated and correct and help prepare cost cards for buys.
Education and Experience:
- 2-5 years experience of Technical Design first samples creation experience
- College degree, or equivalent professional work experience, required
Skills and Behaviors:
- Proven expertise creating finished garments from design room start to finish.
- Working knowledge of PLM and Photoshop.
- Strong project management and multi-tasking skills with critical attention to detail
- Confident, engaging verbal and written communication skills
- Motivated to work in a high energy environment at the speed of fashion with ever-changing priorities
- Ability to work independently and work to meet multiple deadlines
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with other departments as well as vendors and other overseas offices
The pay range for this position is: $75,000 - $100,000 per year
