Role – Heavy Equipment Service Technician

Purpose
The Heavy Equipment Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing various JCB-branded equipment, machines, and components. Primary duties include diagnosing, ordering parts, customer and warranty reporting, customer communications, and maintaining company assets – all towards the achievement of individual and group goals.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair equipment and components.
- Properly source and order parts to achieve superior efficiencies, customer satisfaction, and in support of company financial metrics.
- Perform preventative maintenance on JCB equipment, as directed.
- Communicate progress of repairs with the Service Manager.
- Proper use of company-owned special tooling, including maintaining all company-owned assets in a clean and safe manner.
- Completing all associated paperwork in a timely manner, including, but not limited to, work orders, parts orders, time, etc.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by company management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years as a Heavy Equipment Technician is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in relevant Engine, Hydraulic, Electrical and Emission System repair and maintenance.
- Ability to learn and properly use JCB diagnostic tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime, as needed, including occasional weekend work.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screenings and background check.
- Must own adequate tooling to perform all assigned duties
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over an extended period of time without fatigue.
- Frequently moves materials and/or equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climbing up and down ladders.
- Be able to safely maneuver and work on, about, and underneath equipment as required.
- Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
Work Environment
- Regularly works in varied environments; indoors in unconditioned spaces around moving mechanical parts, or outdoors and possibly be exposed to weather extremes that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity.
- Dynamic and possibly elevated noise levels over extended periods.
- Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure fluids, and high-speed rotating equipment as typically experienced by Heavy Equipment Service Technicians.
