Typical Duties Include:
- Plan, coordinate and conduct environmental project activities in the field and office
- Perform and supervise soil and groundwater site assessments
- Manage soil and groundwater cleanup activities
- Oversee quality control and decontamination procedures during field work
- Document closure of sites under various state and federal regulations
- Perform risk and exposure pathway assessments
- Develop conceptual site models of subsurface conditions
- Compile Documentation for Due Care and Compliance (DDCC)
- Prepare technical reports, project specifications, and operation and maintenance manuals
- Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and contracting documents
- Manage and track project budgets
- Perform data management and develop written presentations of data
- Assist with mentorship of junior-level staff
- Work may be performed remotely, when acceptable
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 5 to 8 years of environmental engineering experience in the private and public sectors
- BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Geological Sciences
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) or the ability to obtain PE or PG within one year.
- Demonstrated experience in the environmental regulations applicable to Somat office locations
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to collaborate across offices
- Demonstrates motivation to modify schedule as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
- Legal authorization to work in the United States required
- Insurable driving record required
- Prior project or task management experience, experience with ArcGIS applications and/or experience with Laser-Induced Fluorescence (LIF) technologies is a plus
