Cyber Security Analyst

Pay Rate - $30.00 - $35.00/hr (Depending on Experience)
The Cyber Security team at our energy and utility client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented associate-level Cyber Security Analyst. As a team member, you will be responsible for protecting the company's grid infrastructure, ensuring the security of sensitive data, and managing critical security applications. You will work with both Windows and Linux environments to monitor and safeguard our systems from potential threats.
We are looking for an associate-level analyst who is excited about the opportunity to join a team that manages tools that defend this energy and utility company's distribution and SCADA systems and America's critical infrastructure.
Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or related discipline
- Base-level knowledge of Windows and Linux systems administrations
- Experience with security and risk analysis and working with security configuration and remote access tools
- Background in or experience with programming
- Experience with scripting tools such as Bash and PowerShell is a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform cyber security monitoring of Industrial Control/SCADA systems with monitoring tools like Industrial Defender and Splunk.
- Provide daily summary reports of network events and activity relevant to cyber defense practices.
- Interacted with various business groups and advised them on methods to improve security posture based on detailed analysis.
- Assist in creating documentation on the use of monitoring systems and the performance of NERC CIP logging and alerting processes.
- Use Splunk to monitor failed log-on attempts and for adding/removing users.
- Use cyber defense tools (e.g., IDS alerts, firewalls, network traffic logs) for continual monitoring and analysis of system activity to identify malicious activity.
