In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the preparation, analysis, and consolidation of financial statements, ensuring adherence to US GAAP, IFRS standards, and our internal accounting practices. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of relevant experience and demonstrate a strong command of accounting, finance, and tax principles. Key responsibilities
Accounting and Financial reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements for multiple US entities, including managing intercompany transactions, payments, and supporting documentation for tax returns and compliance.
- Ensure the accurate and timely consolidation of financial information from various entities in accordance with IFRS.
- Perform detailed variance analysis and create monthly financial reports.
- Lead financial audit processes and respond to audit requests.
Compliance and internal controls:
- Ensure organization's accounting principles, practices, finance procedures and internal controls.
- Monitor and analyze intercompany transactions and balances for proper elimination and reporting.
- Direct internal audit processes and manage related requests.
Budget preparation and financial planning:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, working closely with various departments to gather and analyze financial data.
- Support financial planning activities by providing insights and recommendations based on budgetary performance and variance analysis.
Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with accounting and tax outsourcing firms, and collaborate with financial institutions.
- Assistance in potential Due Diligence processes.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders and senior executives, including the Country Manager, CFO Americas and the Consolidating,FP&A and tax team in Spain.
Operational Efficiency:
- Oversee the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury functions to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepare and track US subsidiaries payment requests.
- Monitor AP/AR balances and deliver relevant KPIs to the Management Team.
Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting processes and improve data accuracy.
- Work closely with regional finance teams and headquarters in Spain to ensure alignment and coordination.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting and consolidation, with a strong background in IFRS.
- Excellent analytical, operational, and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives and teams across various regions.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics/ERP Business Central, QuickBooks, Power BI) and advanced Excel skills.
- In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, US GAAP, and IFRS.
- Proven experience in managing outsourced accounting and tax services.
- Advanced coordination and communication skills, with fluency in Spanish
- Experience working in the Renewable Energy, utility, or construction industry is a plus
