Online Adjunct Faculty – World Religions (Spring 2025) | Nebraska Methodist College
Nebraska Methodist College is seeking an experienced Online Adjunct Faculty member to teach World Religions for the Spring 2025 semester, from January 13 to May 9, 2025. This 15-week, asynchronous course explores diverse world religious traditions, designed for undergraduate nursing and allied health students. The ideal candidate will have prior experience teaching online, possess a deep understanding of world religions, and hold at least a master’s degree in Spirituality, Religious Studies, or Theology. Familiarity with the Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS) is preferred. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate effective instructional methodology with command of the subject and use of teaching methods that foster student engagement and learning.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and Course Coordinator to establish clear learning objectives and thoroughly plan and prepare for each class session.
- Implement various instructional methods to stimulate student interest, promote learning, and challenge students to exceed basic requirements.
- Present material with integrity, objectivity, and relevance to other areas of knowledge.
- Collaborate with faculty in curriculum development and systematically assess student learning, providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Ensure punctuality and reliability in conducting classes and revise courses as needed to improve effectiveness.
- Support professionalism by behaving collegially with faculty, staff, and administration, responding to communications promptly, and adhering to the college’s mission, vision, and core values.
- Attend required meetings and job requirements, including timely submission of syllabi, grades, and maintaining certifications/licenses.

Job Qualifications:
- Completion of a terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution in the assigned discipline, with at least 18 semester hours in a related field; master’s or doctoral degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience relevant to the program assignment required; one or more years of post-secondary teaching experience preferred.
- Nebraska licensure and national certifications required, where applicable, for faculty at Nebraska Methodist College.
- Ability to provide academic instruction, read, analyze, interpret, and grade academic assignments in a higher education environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of various teaching methods and adult learning styles.
- Understanding and support of the College mission statement and core values.
