Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Import and Logistics Leader to join our team. This entry-level position will play a key role in managing and coordinating our supply chain operations as we import consumer products from Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, and China. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in freight and logistics, with a strong focus on ocean and air cargo. Additionally, the candidate must possess a solid understanding of import and customs clearing workflows, processes, and the tools used to manage them. Proficiency in Excel, data entry, and database management, combined with strong analytical skills, is essential to support efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import logistics, including coordination of ocean and air shipments from international suppliers (Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, China) to the U.S.
- Track and monitor shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues related to delays, customs clearance, or transportation.
- Maintain accurate data records and provide detailed analysis on shipment schedules, costs, and other logistics metrics.
- Work closely with internal teams, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure compliance with U.S. import regulations and smooth customs clearance processes.
- Update and manage logistics databases, ensuring that all information is current and accurate.
- Assist in negotiating shipping rates and managing relationships with carriers to optimize costs and efficiency.
- Prepare and analyze logistics reports, using Excel and other data management tools, to improve supply chain performance.
- Support other import and logistics functions as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in freight and logistics, with hands-on knowledge of both ocean and air cargo.
- Solid understanding of import workflows, customs clearance processes, and the tools used to facilitate these operations.
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced knowledge preferred) and experience with database management.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent data entry and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with U.S. import regulations and customs processes is a plus.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
