Johns Manville is seeking an experienced Technical Specialist. This position provides technical service for commercial edge metal roof systems and building expansion joint systems. Including but is not limited to helping the customer select the best system for the specific condition, providing pricing for the product(s), answer technical questions throughout the selection, ordering and installation process, provide job specific hand drafted sketches for use in custom fabrication.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Build/develop relationships with new and existing customers through excellent service and communication.
- Diagnose and make professional roofing recommendations.
- Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare fabrication drawings and apply knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles and processes.
- Review data to determine the appropriate material and the fabrication requirements for efficient manufacturing processes.
- Consults with clients, vendors or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Support Customer Service personnel and salesmen with order review, order entry and delivery schedule.
- Create, update and modify drawings for construction and fabrication.
- Develop a working knowledge of roofing product specifications.
- Interpret construction drawings and guide drafting through some generation of new drawings.
- Responsible for visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
- Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Must follow all safety rules and regulations.
What You Bring to the Team:
- 5 years of commercial roofing or sheet metal fabrication or proven roofing/general construction experience.
- Ability to understand and interpret specifications and drawings.
- Must have a good knowledge of fabrication techniques.
- AutoCAD experience is desired but not required
