Job Summary: The Director of Research and Analytics will help guide strategic research initiatives and drive high-quality analytics outcomes. This role involves developing and implementing research strategies, managing projects, and ensuring the timely delivery of research findings. The Research Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive innovation, and maintain a deep understanding of industry trends and emerging technologies.
Research Director Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop and execute comprehensive research plans aligned with organizational goals and objectives
· Define research methodologies, data collection strategies, and analysis frameworks to ensure robust and insightful outcomes
· Utilize market data secondary data, and analytics to provide data inspired reports
· Responsible for data integrity by owning all web & mobile analytics data sources & tag management, continuously optimizing & auditing
· Collect, clean and manipulate data to create marketing and growth reports for clients
· Conduct A/B testing and personalization effort, instilling a culture of disciplined statistical analysis
· Guide team on customer journey analysis, heat mapping, session recording and user research best practices
· Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key research areas and prioritize projects accordingly
· Direct research projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
· Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement appropriate strategies to mitigate risks and maintain project momentum
· Oversee the production of high-quality research reports, whitepapers, and presentations that effectively communicate findings and insights to internal and external stakeholders
· Ensure research outputs meet industry standards, are data-driven, and provide actionable recommendations
· Collaborate with internal teams such as product development, marketing, and sales to integrate research insights into strategic decision-making processes
· Present research findings to executive leadership, providing strategic recommendations and insights for business development and growth
· Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscapes to inform research strategies and stay ahead of the curve
· Analyze market dynamics and competitor activities to identify potential opportunities and threats
Research Director Requirements and Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional data science analytics experience at a high growth company or ecommerce business
- Degree (advanced degree preferable) in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Social Sciences, Data Science, etc.)
- Proven experience in research management and leadership, preferably in a related industry
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a track record of producing high-quality research outputs
- Proficiency in research methodologies, statistical analysis, and data visualization tools
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Slack)
- Significant experience utilizing data warehouse or CDP to consolidate customer profiles & utilize across owned digital channels
- Well-versed in advanced statistical analysis techniques and leveraging BI tools
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
- Foster a collaborative and innovative research environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth
Salary Range: $130K - $160K per year base salary depending on educational attainment and work experience
