Position Overview:
Our Client is seeking Histopathology contractor to join our Non-clinical Development Team. The individual will support discovery and development programs across the company. You will be working collaboratively with multiple departments to enhance and develop our histopathology and molecular pathology.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert for histopathology/molecular pathology
- IHC/ISH staining method development
- Operate whole slide imaging system, including scanning and analysis
- Coordinate and collaborate with outside vendors
- Organization and ordering of materials and reagents required for studies and histology equipment.
- Maintain a thorough and up to date electronic lab notebook.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong communication and social skills with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficient in standard histological techniques in tissue processing (including fixation, decalcification, embedding and cutting of formalin-fixed paraffin embedded animal tissues)
- Proficiency in development and execution of histology-based assays (IHC, ISH, IF and special stains)
- Experience with method transfer to CROs
- Exceptional attention to detail and due diligence in project execution
- Familiarity with autostainers (Leica BOND), digital image analysis and storage (HALO) preferred
